Lt. Colonel on the staff, signed but hard to read, 1860s

£40.00

A good carte de visite of a seated staff officer by Mr Ernest Edwards, 20 Baker Street, London W. The card is signed by the sitter on the verso William ……ald  L Col but the name is hard to decipher. His sword, which appears to be of the general officer’s 1831 pattern, suggests he is probably an aide de camp. Edwards is recorded as mainly working in the 1860s.     jan22/1
