A small leather case, 60 x 35 x 20 mm, the interior with a purple plush base designed to take a brooch. The pale blue silk lid lining is printed in gold P. ORR & SONS MADRAS beneath a Prince of Wales’s crest with BY APPOINTMENT above. Along the edge of the leather base it proudly states ENGLISH MADE CASE. We have previously had a similar case from a Calcutta jeweller which contained a gold royal pin dating fom the time of the Prince of Wales’s 1875 Royal Visit to India. may9/1
