Madras Artillery. An attractive little 4¾ ins silver egg spoon of fiddle, thread, and shell pattern, hallmarked London 1862 GA for George Adams. The spoon, which weighs 25gms is engraved with the regimental title MADRAS ARTILLERY on a garter. It was made for the mess shortly after the Indian Mutiny at a time when the Artillery was being absorbed into the Royal Artillery.   apr21/2
