Officers of the 5th Royal Irish Lancers outside York Minster, circa 1910

A real photograph postcard of slightly smaller size than usual [5¼ x 3¼ ins]. the unused card shows a casual view of 12 officers in full dress uniform, their plumes blown about by the wind. The regiment spent some 20 years in India in late Victorian times before serving with distinction in South Africa. After WW1 it was merged with the 16th Lancers. may13/8
