Late Victorian invitation, printed on card, 6¼ x 5 ins, with manuscript additions with regimental badge embossed. The invitation from Colonel the Honble. Sydney Annesley and Officers 4th Battn. Oxfordshire Light Infantry to luncheon for [added in manuscript] Presentation of Colours by H.R.H. The Duchess of Connaught, 3pm. The card is a little soiled but would probably clean with a rubber.    sep22/4

Colonel the Hon. Algernon Sydney Arthur Annesley [b. 1829] was a son of the 4th Viscount Valentia, had originally served in the 10th Royal Hussars, and was honorary colonel of th 4th from 1891.
