Portman. A gilt 27mm livery button with the two crests – a talbot for Portman and a unicorn for Berkeley. The backmark is FIRMIN & SONS LD. 198 ST MARTINS LANE LONDON and button was worn by staff of William Henry Berkeley Portman who succeeded as 2nd Viscount Portman in 1888. He was a politician and M.P. and sometime Ho, Colonel of the West Somerset Imperial Yeomanry. sep2/6
