RADHANPUR. A cdv of HH Nawab Mohammad Bismillah Khan, circa 1877
£55.00
RADHANPUR. A rather faded but still clear old carte de visite with no photographer’s credit but inscribed on the verso in local script shows the ruling prince seated wearing court dress and jewels and holding a sword. H. H. Mohammad Bismillah Khan, Nawab of Radhanpur ruled the 11 gun salute state from 1874 until his death in 1895 and this cdv was probably produced by a local Indian photographer around the time of the 1877 Imperial Assemblage. Radhanpur was a state in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. feb16/5
