The carte de visite by BOURNE & SHEPHERD, PHOTOGRAPHERS, INDIA shows the Nawab of Radhanpur, Muhammad Bismillah Khan. seated, wearing traditional Indian court dress with pearls and other jewels and a particularly elaborately jewelled sarpech and sword. He was born in 1843 and succeeded to the gadi of this 10 gun salute state in the Bombay Presidency in 1874, The cdv probably dates from shortly after that. jun26/2
