Royal Company of Archers, Victorian 25mm

A good example of the Royal Company of Archers button of the 25mm large size and of officer’s quality. The high relief button has the Victorian crown surrounded by the lettering R C A QUEENS BODY GUARD and has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS LD 153 STRAND LONDON & 47 WARWICK ST. Still a proud unit with centuries of Royal Service the Company is still very much in evidence in Edinburgh in summer, most publicly at the Thistle Service at St Giles but also at events at Holyrood such as the garden parties. dec2/5  SOLD 22nd April 2024
