Tour of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. India. 1905 – 1906. No printing details on the title page as is usual with official publications but the verso of that page tells us CALCUTTA Printed by Thacker, Spink and Co. Small 8vo [7½ x 5 ins].
Folding route map of India before title page [the first fold neatly split from the next], xxiv, 187pp, 3 folding maps at back of book – The Neighbourhood of Delhi, Agra City, Cantonments and Civil Station, Lucknow City and Environs – xxiv, 187pp. Original padded red leather gilt, titled on the upper board INDIA 1905-6 beneath the Prince’s crest, all edges marbled, gilt very faded and a little rubbing ro corners and head of spine but the contents exceptionally clean with all maps neatly folded and no internal markings apart from the contemporary signature James Putnam to theblank verso to the front free endpaper. The first part of the book [xxiv pp] contains: The Prince of Wales’s Household, The Princess of Wales’s Household, Indian Staff, Honorary Aides de Camp [i], Programme [Bombay, Indore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bikanir, Lahore, Peshawar, Hasan Ardal and Kala-Ki-Sarai, Rawalpindi, Jammu (Satwari), Amitsar, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Lucknow, Calcutta, Darjeeling, Rangoon, Mandalay, Madras, Mysore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Benares, Bikna Thori (Nepal), Aligarh, Quetta, Karachi] [v-xxii], List of Chiefs who will be received by H.R.H.
