Shooting from elephant howdah, India early 20th century

£60.00

An unusual and atmospheric big game hunting study, probably Edwardian, measuring 9 x 7½ ins  mounted on stout grey photographer’s card but with no credit. The soft focus image shows a shikari fastening a trophy to a pad elephant while the hunter watches from his howdah on which he leans in a bored attitude. Other pad elephants wait around.  jan8/6
