The Green Howards, volunteer officer’s silver plated 26mm.

£20.00

An excellent example of the The Green Howards ( Alexandra, Princess of Wales’s Own Yorkshire Regt.) as worn by volunteer officers, of the same pattern as the regular gilt button but in silver plate. This north Yorkshire regiment was formerly the 19th Foot and remained a seoarate regiment after most had been amalgamated. It has the  backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON and would have been worn during the Edwardian period until 1908. This was in my private Yorkshire collection and is the only example I have ever handled. No attempt to clean it has been made but I think it would clean very well. jun27/2
