Victorian plume holder of fine gilt construction

A finely made gilt plume holder of unusual intricacy, the 20mm ball base mounted with VR cypher. Overall height 40 mm and width at the top 35mm. We have never come across an item quite like this before and are in doubt about whether it is military or high diplomatic in origin. mar30/3 SOLD 31st March 2024
