1730 Two large folio contemporary copies of documents related to the Charge of the Garrison at Gibraltar

Two large folio pages, c. 18 x 11 ins, are written in a fine secretarial hand in palace script on three sides of laid and watermarked paper. These are contemporary copies of 1730 authenticated at the end of each sheet A true Copy. R. Arnold. The first page begins George R. in the manner of a royal signature of approval at the head of a document but is clearly in the hand of the writer, being much nearer more florid than that of George II. it announces charges to take place from Christmas Day 1829, shortly after the end of the Anglo Spanish War and the siege of Gibraltar. The first side of the second sheet lists the payments to the Military Establishment of two regiments of infantry commanded by Col. Anstruther and Col. Disney. The other side lists the charges of the civil establishment with daily payments from the Governor [£2] via the Town Major [5 shillings] & the Provost Marshal [4 shillings] to the Turnkey [1 shilling].  The paper is completely sound with just a little chipping at the edges. These documents date to just after the Anglo Spanish War of 1726-29 when the Spanish besieged Gibraltar and built fortifications.
