The Edwardian period officer’s dress tunic is in quite good order externally, although lacking epaulettes, all buttons, and the collar badges. 17th Rajput Infantry (The Loyal Regiment). The red tunic with white facings is the The lining is very poor above the waist band. That leather band has the officer’s name recorded in ink: David George Minden Dundas, born 30/3/80, 2/Lt 4/8/01, Lanc. Fus. Lt 24/9/03, to Indian Army, 17th Inf. 14/Mar/09 Capt. We have not checked his career beyond 1912 but there are two tapes for a medal bars on the left breast, the spacing suggesting at least two medals.  apr17/7
