1st (Royal) Dragoons, Victorian officer’s gilt 15mm mounted button

A very good xample of the 15mm gilt officer’s button of the 1st (Royal) Dragoons with the backmark JENNENS LONDON. The button retains virtually all the original gilt finish with just a little rubbing on the highest points of the lion. This is the earlier pattern of the mounted design as favoured by several cavalry regiments. Unlike the later pattern the regimental title ROYAL DRAGOONS here appears on the garter around the crowned lion.  jun20/1  SOLD 30th June 2025
