1st West York Militia officer’s gilt 19mm button in exceptional condition retaining full original gilt finish. The slightly domed open backed button has the backmark C. JENNENS LONDON. The button, Ripley & Darmanin 282 appears to have been in use until around 1820 and would have been the largest size in use on the uniform. feb26/2
