This is the smller size 17mm officer’s gilt coatee button of the 23rd Foot, Royal Welch Fuziliers worn before 1855, with the backmark JENNENS, LONDON . The button has the regimental title on a band with the Prince of Wales’s within, a Victorian crown above, and the regimental number in Roman numerals beneath. It retains some of the original gilt finish. jun23/1
