Original untitled blue cloth with badge of Coldstream Guards blocked in silver to front board, wrinkle to cloth top right, fine armorial bookplate  H. A. Chandos-Pole-Gell, Hopton Hall Derbyshire to front board [contemporary alteration in ink to bookplate Heverswood, Kent, excellent clean condition, marginal notes to page 24 [shown here] . The book has the rules of the club (a dining club for officers of the Coldstream Guards) followed by lists of members from 1783. The six original members were Fremantle, Bosville, Webb, Knght, Calvert, and Gasgoyne.       jan2/2

Henry Anthony Chandos-Pole-Gell  served as a captain in the Coldstream Guards, retiring in 1903 after serving in the S African War. He was late lieutenant colonel of the Derbyshire Imperial Yeomanry.
