£625.00

The patent leather pouch case, dating from 1903-22. for small field glasses measures approximately 5 x  4 x 2 inches. The handsome silver plated badge, 50 x 60 mm,  has the title WILDE’S RIFLES on a circle around the regimental number 57 all beneath a Tudor or king’s crown. Around this, on a wreath are the battle honours DELHI, LUCKNOW, CHINA 1900, AFGHANISTAN and beneath that on a scroll is the title FRONTIER FORCE. As usual the patent leather is degraded by heat but the pouch is sound with correct fittings, the interior of case and lid are velvet lined but this is lacking from the flap. jan13/2
