72nd Foot, Duke of Albany’s Own Highlanders, a good example of the 25mm officer’s gilt button of the pattern worn between 1855 and 1881, when it became the 1st Bn. The Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany’s Own). The backmark is JENNENS & Co. LONDON. The original gilt finish is somewhat dull although not rubbed. . jul16/1
