76th Foot. Embossed regimental badge in red

A small 23 x 27 mm military badge of the 76th Regiment of Foot embossed in red, on card cut from stationery. The badge of the regiment shows an elephant beneath a Tudor crown with the battle honours for HINDOOSTAN, LASWAREE, DELHI, AGRA, ALLIGHUR together with those of NIVE PENINSULA and the regimental number LXXVI . The regiment was funded initially by the H.E.I.C. and its earliest service was in India in the late 18th century. The 1881 reforms saw the regiment linked to the 33rd and becoming the 2nd Bn.
