Vol I: badge vignette to title page, 5 coloured & 21 uncoloured plates, 15 single page maps and battle plans, xviii, 231pp; Vol II: 5 coloured plates [one of which is a sample of the regimental tartan, 1 map, 13 uncoloured illustrations. This volume with one added page of drawings of shoulder belt plates, annotation and correction to the chapter on uniform, 1 added page with a cutting, a coloured print of soldiers tipped to the blank half of the last page of the index and a few magazine illustrations tipped to the final blank [see footnote], Original half buff leather and red cloth, regimental badge to upper boards in gilt, title label to vol I but lacking to vol II, top edges gilt. All illustrations correct as lists with guards [that to the tartan with offsetting, a few minor marks to boards but generally a very clean set.    may24/2

Extra illustration and annotation. We are almost certain from the style and hand that these were made by the late dealer and collector Stan Paget of Carnoustie who was very knowledgeable about Scottish regiments. We have some of his reference books in our own library and find his notes and extra illustrations always helpful.
