85th (Bucks Volunteers) (King’s Light Infantry) Foot. Officer’s gilt 25mm button

Officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 85th (Bucks Volunteers) (King’s Light Infantry) Foot. This pattern was worn from 1855-1881 after which the regiment became the 2nd Bn. The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.  The rather sleepy looking button, although not badly worn, would benefit from cleaning and retains a good proportion of the original gilt finish. It has the rather uncommon backmark of WILLIAM JONES &Co. 23 REGENT ST. LONDON. jun8/2
