Portrait frontispiece and 3 other plates, ix, 214pp. Original green cloth gilt with a tiger to front board, stained and spotted binding, front endpapers broken along hinge but holding fimly on the tapes, not a great copy but complete and with an interesting ownership signature. It has recently been rescued from a damp store and has a somewhat damp odour to it which will probably fade if kept in a warmer climate. 20th century bookplate to front pastedown [Sydney K Reeves], signed on ffep Grace Curzon of Kedleston [American 2nd wife of Marquess Curzon of Kedleston, former Viceroy of India] and mother of novelist Alfred Duggan]. A very few blue pencil marks highlighting critical remarks about Lord Kitchener. Wilson was appointed in 1908 to the position of Finance Minister in the Indian Government and the book covers his tour of duty arriving in Calcutta in November 1908 until 1913.
