A formal Viceroy’s invitatioin to a Ball in 1912

The invitation is printed on 8 x 6 inch card embossed with the Royal Arms in gold and states that The Aide de Camp in Waiting is commanded by His Excellency The Viceroy to invite Captain & Mrs C. F. G. Lang and Miss Forbes to a Ball on Thursday the 6th of June 1912 at 9,454 o’Clock. There are marks on the recerse at the corners where this has once been tipped to an album page.   dec3/1

The Vicereoy at this time, in the year of the King Emperor’s Durbar tour of India was Lord Hardinge of Penshurst .
