A good group of officers from mixed regiments, circa mid 1860s

£55.00

The group of ten, from several different regiments, are in a typical Victorian casual grouping, on a course at the School of Musketry at Hythe in Kent.. The image, 8½ x 6¾ ins, is pasted to a piece of old card. The officer on the extreme left is picked out in a pencil comment on the reverse. His cap badge identifies him as an officer of the 42nd Highlanders. Andrew Michael Creagh was commissioned as an ensign in 1861. The rifles officer on the front row wears medals of the Crimean War.   jul28/1
