An unusual photograph, 5¾ x 3½ ins, showing the large figure guarded by local soldiers or policemen. Naini Tal is a hill station with a beautiful lake in the Kumaon area of northern India. There seems to be some doubt as which figure the god or godess represents – possibly Durga. The photogrpah is pasted to part of an old album leaf.
