 An  East India Company’s commission of 1842 appointing William David Dickson Gentleman, Ensign in the Service of the East India Company to be an Ensign in the Queen’s Army in the East Indies only and is signed J. Nicolls  [The Hon. Sir Jasper Nicolls, K.C.B., General & Commander in Chief India]. The bifolium has the usual three folds and the seal of the c-in-c. It is in excellent condition and and is counter signed John Luard. Lt. Col, Military Secretary, East Indies. feb28/1
