Bristol, Hotwells. Antique Bilston enamel trifle box, late George III period.

£170.00

The standard sized oval box , c 40 x 30 mm lid, has a mauve base and lid with some a minor chip to the lid lower right, and some chips to the base and interior. The lid reads A Trifle from The Hot Wells. Hotwells is now more usually written as a single word but this was produced in the says when the area contained a spa. The delicate scroll work around the lid is typical of the period. The box has a steel mirror to the lid.    oct17/5
