Connaught Rangers. A cdv sized portrait of an officer of the 94th Foot
£30.00
Connaught Rangers. The carte de visite sized [107 x 82 mm] waist length portrait is pasted to a piece of old black card and the top left corner of the photograph has unfortunately been lost, probably after an unsuccessful attempt to remove it. The officer wears a patrol jacket and forage cap. The badge, which I have not come across before, shows the regimental number 94 with a scroll beneath and an elephant on a torse above. We acquired this with a cdv showing a younger looking officer of the 94th identified as C. W. Humpage. This could possibly be same man at a later age. The single cclasp medal he wear seems to be the India General Service 1854. The 94th became the 2nd Bn. Connaught Rangers after 1881. feb4/2
