Coronation o King George V & Queen Mary, 1911 Invitation General Sir Peter & Lady Lumsden

The large,13½ x 11¼ ins, invitation is printed on thin card invites General Sir Peter Lumsden, G.C.B., C.S.I. and Lady Lumsden to the Coronation of Their Majesties King George the Fifth and Queen Mary at Westminster Abbey on the 22nd June 1911. There is uneven brown discolouration around the edges of the card. jun1/2

Provenance: These invitation was in an album put together by General Sir Peter Stark Lumsden, G.C.B., C.,S,I., A. D. C. [b1829]. We acquired this in a large archive of the general’s papers, documents, and photographs . Lumsden served almost his entire career in India but also had strong connections with Queen Victoria and his albums included many senior officers on both Royal and Viceregal Staffs.
