Dalhousie, Khaj1ar Week, a large group of officers and their ladies in civilian dress, unusually, named. 1910
£45.00
The good 11 x 8½ins group photograph is pasted to a card page from an old album that belonged to Lieut Stanley Pertcy Ashby Rolls who was Adjutant of the Dorsetshire Regiment in 1912 and had served with it in India 1905/6. It is titled Dalhousie Khajiar Week June 12th to June 20th 1905. Very unusually almost everyone is named, many of the junior officers seated in front wear riding kit and possibly have been playing polo at this resort. Names include Howard, Barrington, Mitchell, Barret, Harris, Boyal, Lang, Yale . As well as Dorsets quite a number of the officers are from the West Yorkshire Regt. The reverse of the card has a 5¾ x 4 ins view titled Dalhousie Depôt and Station Hospital. jul21/5
