Delhi Durbar 1911.Royal invitation to an afternoon party in the Fort

The Lord High Steward is commanded by Their Imperial Majesties to invite Mrs. Thompson to an Afternoon Party to be held in the Delhi Fort on the 13th December 1911 at 3p.m. The invitation is printed on cream card beneath the imperial cypher GRI embossed in gold beneath a crown. The card is in excellent clean condition. Less formally known as the Garden Party this took place in Delhi Fort for invited guests while there was a people’s pageant in the grounds outside the fort. Durxing this event the King Emperor and the Queen Empress showed themselves to the prople from a balcony. jul14/3
