Two tables of East India shipping for the seasons 1806-7, 1807-8, & 1808-9, folding pay table [torn without loss] xlii, 432pp, including Casualties Bengal 6pp, Madras 4pp, Bombay 5pp. At the time of printing the Governor General was Gilbert, Lord Minto. The casualty lists, always fascinating, show the loss of 19 Bengal officer cadets in the ship Skelton Castle and 7 officers killed at the attack on Camoonah.    may15/4

The Royal Kalendar 1809, with the Arms of the Peers and Baronets, J. Stockdale [London] 1807. and that company’s New Companion. 

Contemporary crimson full red morocco gilt, spine titled  1809. Some wear to extremities but a handsome volume, all edges gilt, original marbled endpapers which are split along the hinges although the outer leather joints are not broken a simple re-casing for a bookbinder], with sound, tight text block, no internal markings. These very thick volumes are prone to being badly shaken and this is a good example.
