xxviii, 3 folding lists of shipping for the seasons 1803-4, 1804-5, & 1805-6 with names of commanders, principal officers, surgeons, pursers, time of sailing, 396pp. including 6 pages of Casualties [Bengal], 6pp [Madras], 2pp [Bombay]. 20th century plain red pebbled cloth titled to spine, the half title has not been bound in and, as often, there is no map [we can supply a photocopied one from one of our own copies if required] .The book is in sound condition the title page is rather browned but not brittle, just suggesting that the text block has been disbound for much of its life. There are no previous ownership marks. Some six pages in the Bengal section have roughly contemporary notes about regimental strengths [one shown in our illustrations]. This issue, only the fourth year of publication in this official Company version of the Register was printed when Marquess Wellesley was Governor General and Lord Lake Commander in Chief. It shows the East India Company’s forces as they were at the close of the Third Mahratta War. sep24/5
