Edward VII. Button worn by officers of the Consular Service in undress uniform

A fine example of the large size 24mm gilt button worn by Consular Officers on undress uniform during the short reign of King Edward VII, This example, with the backmark JENNENS & Co LONDON retains full original gilt finish. The distinguishing feature of this button is the use a quite different, simpler ER VII royal cypher than the usual one found on most buttons, post boxes, etc. It also uses the imperial crown.   aug3/6
