Governor General’s Bodyguard, officer’s 21mm gilt button from the late HEIC period.

£75.00

The 21mm gilt button worn by officers of the Governor General’s Bodyguard has the backmark BOGGETT & REYNOLDS, LONDON who used that mark from 1843 to 1861. It shows the crest of the East India Company within a laurel wreath and retains most of the original gilt finish with just a litte rubbing on the high points of the lion and crown. aug23/5
