The Library of Peter Hopkirk. Books on Central Asia, the Balkans and the Middle East. Sotheby’s 1998. Illustrated sale catalogue in clean condition, 186pp, 1211 lots. The sale took place on 13th and 14th October 1998 and comprised four sections: 1 Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Great Game, 2 continued and Cyprus, Greece and the Balkans, 3 & 4 The Middle East.  An extremely useful reference tool. Peter Hopkirk had been a soldier in the King’a African Rifles, and was an intrepid traveller, scholar, journalist, and writer. Personally he was a customer, friend, and wise adviser. One of our photographs shows a dedication he put in one of his books which he gave me. dec29/1
