Skinner, Major Thomas, 31st Regiment: Adventures During an Overland Journey to India By Way of Egypt, Syria, and the Holy Land. Richard Bentley [London] 1836 1st edition 2 Volumes 8vo.
Vol I: Frontispiece portrait, xi, 324pp; vol II: Engraved frontispiece of Lake Tiberias, xi, 291pp. Fine contemporary binding full leather gilt, all edges marbled to match the endpapers, very little wear [small amount of very minor damage to volume labels on the spine], tight, sound and very clean internally with no previous ownership marking, offsetting to the title pages and frontispieces as is usual with this title. The half titles have been retained: they were often removed at this period when buyers had their books bound to their own specifiacvation.
