An original example of a Royal bulletin of the type shown outside Royal residences to inform the public of important events in the lives of the family. Written by hand on a small sheet of writing paper embossed in red Marlborough House, Pall Mall, S.W. reads His Royal Highness Prince George has had a very good night and is doing well and is signed W. H. Broadbent M.D. J. H. Larking M.D. The bulletin, timed and dated 10 a.m. Sunday Dec 6th [1891] was written at a time when Prince George, on leave from the navy, contracted typhoid fever. His brother, Prince Albert Victor, died at this point, leaving Georgeas second in line to the throne after his father [later King Edward VII]. The bulletin is tipped by corners to a sheet of strong paper. apr14/2
