12pp, stapled as issued. Printed in black and red within a red line border, the cover / title page beneath the Ptince of Wales’s crest. This scarce survival was of course printed before the name of the princess was  announced. She had been born on 25th April 1897 at York Cottage, Sandringham. As well as the service, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury a page names the infant’s sponsors, including Queen Victoria, the Dowager Empress of Russia, the King of Greece, and Prince Francis of Teck. The Princess Mary is better remembered by her later name, The Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood.     jul13/2
