Nepal. Two boys wearing traditional kilt and leather leggings.

POA

An interesting double portrait of two brothers, possibly of one of the Rana families. They are seated on Victorian chairs and wear a mixed dress of British jackets, waistcoats, shirts and ties but with more traditional Nepali leather leggings beneath kilts. The both wear very solid brogues, the elder one in what appear to be white and black. The image is 11.5 x 9.5 ins and is mounted on a stained and discoloured photographer’s card [14 x 18ins with a closed tear to the right hand edge] printed SAMAR, Nepal. There are a few marks to the image particularly to the right hand chair. Portraits taken in Nepal are rather scarce.
