Novelty pen wiper in the form of cavalier

A good quality late Victorian or Edwardian novelty pen wiper. The gilt metal figure of a cavalier is 2 ins / 5cm tall and he stands on a decorative base with two layers of felt on which to wipe your pen nib. It is possible that the figure is meant to represent someone like Charles Stuart. apr6/3
