The 27mm silver plated button with the backmark PITT & Co. 31 MADDOX ST. LONDON probably dates from the time of Colonel George Sholto Gordon Douglas-Pennant [1836-1907] who succeeded his father as 2nd Baron Penrhyn in 1886. The 1st crest of an antelope’s head from a ducal coronet is for Pennant and the 2nd of a sanglier [male domestic pig] with oak tree is for Douglas.  feb20/2 SOLD 22nd April 2024
