This officer’s 25mm gilt button was probably worn only from 1908 until 1936 and has the title PRINCE OF WALES’ OWN WEST YORKSHIRE around the outer circle but the inner circle is blank, omitting the battle honours carried by the regular battalions. The button has the backmark PITT &Co. 31 MADDOX ST. |LONDON and there is a little rubbing to the high points of the central tiger, which in this case has its tail and head lowered. aug2/2
