Rawalpindi & Peshawar Railway Stations awaiting an important arrival

£20.00

Four small snapshots, 4¼ x 3¼ ins, showing the railway stations in the north Indian [now Pakistani] military towns of Peshawar and Rawalpindi, undated but probably 1st quarter of the 20th century. The patriotic arches suggest this in an occasion of a Royal, Viceregal or similar much anticipated event. The temporary flag bedecked triumphal arches are typical of the time.      jul10/1
