Sikh dagger of kirpan style as worn in a Nihang’s dumala

£40.00

A small, 4½ inch long dagger of  what might be called kirpan type which would have been worn by a Nihang or Akali Sikh warrior. The all steel item is made in a single piece and is unsharpened so probably strictly of ornamental use. It would originally have been worn in the dumala and we have seen images of a very similar item incorporated in the badge worn on the front of an Akali dumala.     nov25/1
