Sir Frederick Roberts, V.C.. A real photographic portrait tipped o a page from an 1880 military journal

The 4½ x 3½ ins portrait shows the Mutiny hero in mid career, bust length. The latest medal on show is the one for the Abyssinia Campaign. There is a very small area of damge at the lower left corner. This is the portrait that appears in Low’s 1883 biography of Roberts. A copy of that book will be found in another section of the website. aug29/3
