SITWELL. An armorial bookplate of Sir Osbert Sitwell, 5th Baronet

SITWELL. This traditional bookplate, 4½ x 3½ ins, is in the traditional style of armorial bookplates with Osbert Sitwell’s full name beneath the shield, Francis Osbert Sacheverell Sitwell but the writer was always known just as Osbert. The bookplate is in very clean condition and pasted to a small blank book page. Other bookplates used by Osbert include one jointly used with his brother Sacheverell which was designed by Gino Severini and a very large, fanciful one by Rex Whistler, only used in folios. feb22/5
